ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to ascertain resource funding provision and students performance in secondary school in Yakurr Local Government Area, Cross River State. Three null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance using chi-square (x2) analysis. The instrument used for data collection was the questionnaire on resource funding provision and students performance (RFPSP). The sample comprised of two hundred (200) respondents drawn from five (5) schools in the study area. The result of the analysis revealed that funding school building, school equipment funding and supply of school ground funding significantly influenced students performance. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that: funds should be provided to school heads to use in the provision and maintenance of school facilities, attractive sites, should be provided around school buildings. Thus sanitation and environmental clubs should be encouraged in order to achieve this, school grounds should be planted with good flowers in form of decoration. School heads, teachers, students’ bodies and clubs should work cooperatively in order to achieve this.
